This policy explains how Schmick Education collects, uses, and protects your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988.

When a school registers and uses Schmick Education we collect the school name, contact person name and email, phone number, suburb and state, and booking history including dates, subjects, year levels, and lesson notes submitted through the platform.

When a relief teacher joins the platform we collect their full name, email address, phone number, suburb and city, subjects they teach, year levels they are comfortable with, Working With Children Check (WWCC) number and expiry, and availability preferences.

We collect standard web server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited. This information is used for security and to improve the platform.

We use your information solely to operate the Schmick Education booking platform. This includes matching schools with relief teachers, sending booking notifications, confirming bookings, and communicating platform updates. We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to any third party.

We share limited information between schools and teachers to facilitate bookings — for example a school sees a confirmed teacher's name and email, and a teacher sees the school's name and contact person. We do not share your information with any external parties except where required by law.Our platform is hosted on Hostinger servers. Our email service is provided by Brevo. Both are bound by data processing agreements consistent with Australian privacy law.

Either party may terminate their account at any time. Schmick Education reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, misuse the platform, or engage in behaviour that compromises the safety of students or the trust of other users.

Schmick Education is not liable for any loss or damage arising from bookings made through the platform, the conduct of teachers or schools, or interruptions to the platform service. Our liability is limited to the amount paid by the school in the preceding month. Nothing in these terms limits liability for personal injury, death, or fraud.

Your data is stored on servers located in the European Union (Hostinger) and Europe (Brevo). Both providers maintain appropriate technical and organisational security measures. We retain your data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after account closure for record-keeping purposes.

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate information, and request deletion of your information subject to our legal obligations.
