Terms and Conditions

These terms govern your use of the Schmick Education platform operated by J&Boo Pty Ltd (ABN: [38592300459]). By using the platform you agree to these terms.

By accessing or using the Schmick Education platform you agree to be bound by these terms of service. If you do not agree to these terms you may not use the platform. These terms apply to all users including schools, relief teachers, and administrators.

Schmick Education provides an invitation-only online platform that facilitates connections between schools seeking relief teachers and relief teachers seeking work. We are a booking and communication platform — we are not an employer, employment agency, or labour hire company.

Schools and teachers arrange their own employment relationship. Schmick Education is not a party to any employment contract between a school and a teacher.

Schools using the platform agree to provide accurate information in all booking requests including correct dates, subjects, and year levels. Schools are responsible for ensuring their preferred teacher pool consists of teachers who meet all applicable requirements including WWCC verification. Schools are responsible for verifying that any teacher they engage through the platform holds the appropriate qualifications and registrations required by Queensland law.

Relief teachers using the platform agree to maintain a current and valid Working With Children Check at all times. Teachers agree to respond to booking requests within the stated response window. Accepting a booking constitutes a commitment to attend — repeated non-attendance after acceptance may result in account suspension.

Teachers are responsible for ensuring their profile information including subjects, year levels, and availability is accurate and kept up to date.

School accounts are billed on a monthly or annual subscription basis as selected at signup. Subscription fees are charged in Australian dollars. All fees are non-refundable except where required by Australian Consumer Law. Schmick Education reserves the right to change pricing with 30 days notice. Relief teachers use the platform entirely free of charge.

Either party may terminate their account at any time. Schmick Education reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, misuse the platform, or engage in behaviour that compromises the safety of students or the trust of other users.

Schmick Education is not liable for any loss or damage arising from bookings made through the platform, the conduct of teachers or schools, or interruptions to the platform service. Our liability is limited to the amount paid by the school in the preceding month. Nothing in these terms limits liability for personal injury, death, or fraud.

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
